Rain came down in sheets last Monday morning at Shadow Glen Golf Club in Olathe, Kan., but for the second time this summer, golf was played without delay at a Vitae golf tournament.  The 26th Annual Jerry & Kaye Meiners Pro-Life Golf Classic proceeded with its shotgun start at noon, and all 30 teams were relieved that storms stayed away!

There were some adjustments due to coronavirus, but each golfer was treated to a boxed lunch, snacks, beverages, golf, prizes and a gift card from Jack Stack Barbeque.  We saw experienced and amateur golfers alike come out to support Vitae’s powerful mission to reach abortion-determined women before they fall into the hands of the abortion industry.

Lamar Hunt, Jr. gave a stirring talk prior to the shotgun start of the golf tourney, reminding everyone that the lives of women and babies are extremely vulnerable especially during these times.  He shared several sad statistics, “In 2018, 7,048 abortions were performed in Kansas.  The percentage of those abortions performed on out-of-state women amounted to 49.1 percent, and there are 9 live dismemberment abortions each week in Kansas.”  Mr. Hunt encouraged tournament attendees to take action and pray fervently for an end to abortion.

“We sincerely thank all of those who donated to this year’s event in support of reaching more women facing unplanned pregnancies and connecting them to lifesaving Pregnancy Help Centers,” Vitae’s Market Director Eddie Mulholland said.  “Your efforts will not only help women but encourage a culture of life.”  See program for full list of sponsors.

Congratulations to all the golfers for not only their impressive scores, but also for making a difference in the lives of women in crisis.  See list of winners tournament here. View our Facebook post below to see pictures from the day.

If you didn’t get a chance to participate in this year’s tournament and wish to donate, you still have that opportunity!  The Vitae Foundation graciously accepts donations at any time as we continually strive to connect more women with life-saving pregnancy centers where they can have the opportunity to choose life.

A few hours of morning torrential rain did not disrupt Vitae’s Jerry & Kaye Meiners Annual Pro-Life Gold Classic…
