Rachel Blackmore has been sharing her passion for life with anyone who would listen since she was a young girl on her grandparent’s farm in Southwest Iowa.
Rachel moved to Columbia, Missouri the summer before 6th grade with her mom and two younger sisters. She loved debating her peers and classmates on issues she held dear. In junior and senior high school her speeches and essays centered around the life issue, from abortion to euthanasia. Rachel always argued for the lives of the most vulnerable.
Rachel graduated from Hickman High School and went on to Columbia College where she majored in History and Political Science, graduating with honors and with degrees in both fields. Rachel went on to work in Missouri politics for 16 years. Her jobs included: Volunteer Coordinator for Bush-Cheney campaign, Constituent Advocate for Congressman Kenny Hulshof, Campaign Manager for Laura Nauser for State Representative, and Government Affairs Liaison with Polsinelli-Shughart. She went on to work as a Deputy State Director with Americans for Prosperity where she led lobbying efforts, directed social media strategies, coordinated grassroots outreach, media relations, among many other duties.
Rachel stepped away from politics and joined the Vitae Foundation as the Events Director in December 2017. She was promoted to Market Director in June 2019 and works the St. Louis and Southern Illinois markets.
Rachel continues to live in Columbia, Missouri with her husband, Robert and their six children. She continues to be involved in conservative politics but in a much smaller capacity. Rachel enjoys volunteering for her children’s schools and sporting activities, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Mizzou sports, riding her bicycle and cooking dinner from scratch for her family.
