Rachel* came in with her mother and wanted an abortion. When she learned the pregnancy center didn’t offer abortions, her mother left angrily. Rachel stayed to learn more about the risks of abortion and the services that could be provided to her on-site. Rachel left still undecided. A week later, she came back for a follow-up appointment, pregnancy test, and ultrasound. When she saw her child on the ultrasound screen, she said, “It has fingers . . . and toes. It’s a baby!” Rachel chose life and her mother ultimately came around and was supportive of her decision.

Daria* became pregnant as the result of a domestic assault by the father of her older child. She came to Harmony Women’s Care after finding it through a Vitae ad online. When Daria arrived, she said she was planning an abortion. At her appointment, she had a pregnancy test, ultrasound, and STD test. When she left, she still wasn’t sure what to do. The following week, when she returned for a follow-up ultrasound and the results of her STD test, she said that despite the overwhelming pressure from the father of the baby to abort, she had decided to carry.

This story is just one of the many examples of babies saved because their moms found us online through Vitae ads. In addition, every patient is given an opportunity to hear the gospel and nearly 50% of them choose to invite Christ into their lives. Vitae’s work is crucial in our ability to reach and serve at-risk women. We are extremely grateful.”

Saffi* came to the Care Net of Puget Sound’s pregnancy center devastated after learning she was pregnant. She was disappointed in herself and believed her parents would be too. After her boyfriend indicated the pregnancy was “her problem” to deal with, Saffi felt completely alone. She knew abortion was wrong but didn’t see any other option. The client advocate kindly listened to Saffi and gently guided the conversation to discuss all of her options–not just abortion. After her ultrasound, and as she was leaving, the client advocate reminded her that it was her decision and no woman should feel pressure to choose abortion.
After several weeks of unanswered calls made to Saffi, she finally reached back out to make an appointment and asked, “My friend just found out she is pregnant. Can she come in too?”
Saffi and her friend Erica* came in together for ultrasounds. It turned out their babies were nearly the exact same age! They decided together to carry to term and tell their families. They enrolled in parenting classes at Care Net of Puget Sound and became each other’s support as they continued their pregnancies.
