Nicholaus Johnson, former Senior Development Director for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), joined the national pro-life messaging efforts of the Vitae Foundation on March 16. As a Market Director in the St. Louis region, Johnson joins a team that annually raises millions of dollars to fund research, digital marketing strategies and educational efforts to help build a culture of life.
“We are beyond thrilled to welcome Nick and his immense talents to the Vitae family,” Vitae President Debbie Stokes stated. “Nick will help draw more people in the St. Louis market to join us in our life-saving efforts, driving Vitae toward even greater successes in fostering a culture of life.”
Johnson brings 15 years of non-profit fundraising and development experience to Vitae: a District Executive for the Great Rivers Council, BSA, in the Hannibal area; a Senior District Executive for the Greater St. Louis Area Council, BSA, serving the St. Charles area; and on the Development team where he helped raise over $800,000 in 2019 by doubling the proceeds of the annual Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner Gala. Johnson also launched the “Emerging Leaders Network” to engage young professionals through mentoring, volunteer opportunities, and a Speaker Series with community leaders.
The University of Missouri graduate is highly dedicated to numerous community and church organizations. Johnson is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the St. Charles Rotary Club, a Junior Achievement volunteer and a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council – Dardenne Council.
Vitae Director of Development Doug Callahan said Johnson will be an asset to his Development team. “We are so fortunate to have hired Nick. Not only is he enthusiastic, dedicated and intelligent, but he is also deeply committed to his faith and his family. Nick will represent Vitae extremely well.”
Johnson resides in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri. He and his wife, Michelle, have three young boys: Paul, Luke and Ryan. They are parishioners at Immaculate Conception – Dardenne.
“I feel very lucky and blessed to be a part of the team at Vitae Foundation and doing God’s work on behalf of women and children. It’s an exciting time to join this organization,” Johnson stated.
